Working Principle of Vertical Ring High Gradient Magnetic Separator

The VPHGMS operates based on the combined effects of magnetic force, pulsating fluid force and gravity separation.

During operation, mineral slurry enters the separation zone and passes through the high-gradient magnetic matrix installed inside the vertical rotating ring. Weakly magnetic particles are attracted and captured by the matrix under the strong magnetic field, while non-magnetic particles pass through the matrix and are discharged separately.

The vertical ring rotation system continuously moves the magnetic matrix from the separation area into the low magnetic field zone, where clean flushing water removes the captured magnetic particles. This reverse flushing design helps minimize matrix blockage and improves equipment availability.
