HUATAO Rubber Membrane Filter Plates, also known as Rubber Diaphragm Filter Plates or Membrane Squeeze Filter Plates, are engineered for high-efficiency solid-liquid separation where lower cake moisture, shorter filtration cycles and reliable operation are required.
Unlike conventional recessed chamber plates, a membrane plate uses a flexible diaphragm to apply secondary pressure to the filter cake after the initial filtration stage. Water or compressed air can be introduced behind the membrane, causing it to expand and mechanically squeeze the cake. This additional dewatering stage can increase cake solids and reduce residual moisture before cake discharge. This operating principle is widely used by international membrane filter press manufacturers.
Our plates are particularly suitable for mining tailings dewatering, mineral concentrate filtration, coal washing, metal processing, chemical slurry and industrial wastewater treatment.

The Replaceable Rubber Membrane Plate consists of a rigid support/core plate combined with flexible replaceable membrane sheets. When the diaphragm becomes worn or damaged, the membrane can be replaced separately instead of discarding the complete plate.
This construction can significantly reduce replacement cost and maintenance downtime, particularly in mining and heavy industrial filter presses where plates operate continuously under abrasive slurry and repeated pressure cycles.
Replaceable membrane technology is an established industrial design: international suppliers describe replaceable membranes as mechanically secured to the support plate so that the membrane face can be removed while retaining the original plate body.
Correct membrane installation is important. The membrane must be properly seated and sealed to prevent leakage during the squeeze cycle.

Secondary membrane squeezing removes additional liquid after cake formation, producing a drier cake and reducing downstream handling, transportation or thermal drying requirements.

Note: Pressure, temperature and chemical resistance must be confirmed according to plate construction, elastomer compound, slurry chemistry and filter press operating conditions. International membrane presses can operate across widely varying pressure ranges, so these values should not be generalized to every replacement plate.
For iron ore, copper, gold and other mine tailings, high-pressure membrane filter plates help remove additional water from the filter cake before discharge. Lower cake moisture improves material handling and can support tailings stacking and water recovery systems.
Copper, zinc, lead, iron ore and other concentrates often require controlled final moisture before storage, transport or downstream processing. Membrane squeezing provides additional mechanical dewatering after conventional pressure filtration.
Fine coal and coal-washing sludge can be difficult to dewater efficiently. Membrane squeeze plates provide additional cake compression, helping improve water recovery and produce a more manageable filter cake.

For chemically aggressive slurry, material selection should always be based on chemical composition, concentration, slurry temperature, operating pressure and cleaning chemicals, rather than selecting the elastomer by name alone.
