Polyurethane Conveyor Belt Cleaner Blades

TUFFLEX Polyurethane Belt Cleaner Blades are heavy-duty replacement wear components designed to remove material carryback from conveyor belts operating in mining, quarrying, coal handling, cement production, aggregate processing and bulk material handling plants.

Manufactured from wear-resistant polyurethane compounds, the scraper blades combine abrasion resistance, elasticity and reliable belt contact. They are suitable for continuous-duty conveyors carrying iron ore, coal, copper ore, limestone, crushed stone, sand and other abrasive or sticky bulk materials.

We manufacture standard and customized Replacement Polyurethane Cleaner Blades, including one-piece blades, segmented scraper blades and replacement elements for different primary and secondary belt cleaner systems.

Designed to Reduce Conveyor Carryback

After bulk material passes over the head pulley, fine particles, moisture and sticky material can remain attached to the belt surface. This carryback travels along the return belt and can accumulate around idlers, pulleys, conveyor structures and walkways.

An effective Conveyor Belt Scraper Blade removes adhering material close to the discharge point, helping reduce material buildup, housekeeping work and premature contamination of conveyor components.

For mining applications with severe carryback, polyurethane blades can be combined with secondary cleaning systems for multi-stage belt cleaning.

Why Polyurethane for Belt Cleaner Blades?

Polyurethane is widely used for Primary Belt Cleaner / Pre-Cleaner applications because it provides an effective balance between wear resistance and flexibility.

Compared with rigid metallic cleaning edges, PU blades can absorb vibration and accommodate minor variations in the belt surface while maintaining cleaning pressure.

Primary & Secondary Cleaning Applications

Primary Belt Cleaner Blades are normally positioned around the head pulley and remove the majority of material immediately after discharge.

Where additional cleaning is required, a Secondary Belt Cleaner can remove finer carryback remaining after the primary cleaning stage.

For particularly difficult applications, primary, secondary and tertiary cleaning stages can be combined to achieve improved return-belt cleanliness.

Segmented Polyurethane Scraper Blades

Our Segmented Scraper Blades are designed to provide independent movement across the belt width.

Individual blade segments can respond to belt irregularities and localized wear, helping maintain more consistent cleaning contact. Worn segments can also be replaced separately, reducing maintenance time and unnecessary replacement of usable components.

Segment dimensions, hardness, mounting slots and profiles can be customized according to existing cleaner assemblies.
