The difference between vibrating screen and centrifuge

Date Issued:2022-01-30

A centrifuge is a machine that uses centrifugal force to separate components from liquid and solid particles or a mixture of liquid and liquid. Centrifuges are mainly used to separate solid particles and liquids in suspension; or to separate two immiscible liquids with different densities in emulsions, and can also be used to remove liquids in wet solids.

The vibrating screen is a kind of work that utilizes the compound rotation type vibration generated by the vibrator excitation. Its vibration track is a complex space curve, which is projected as a circle on the horizontal plane and an ellipse on the vertical plane.

In terms of working principle, when the vibrating screen is working, the two motors rotate in the opposite direction synchronously, so that the exciter generates a reverse exciting force, which forces the vibrating screen body to drive the screen to do longitudinal movement, so that the materials on it are stimulated by the exciting force. Periodically throw a range forward to complete the material screening. When the centrifuge is running, when the suspension containing fine particles stands still, the suspended particles gradually sink due to the action of the gravitational field. The heavier the particle, the faster it sinks, whereas the particle with less density than the liquid will float up.
The characteristics of the vibrating screen: the screen box vibrates strongly, which reduces the phenomenon that the material blocks the screen holes, so that the screen has high screening efficiency and productivity.

The characteristics of the centrifuge: the larger the ratio of the centrifugal force to the gravity of the separated material in the drum, the faster the separation, the better the separation effect, the larger the working area of the drum and the larger the processing capacity.
