PU Screen Mesh Helps Plants Cut Screening Downtime by 70%

Date Issued:2026-03-08

PU Screen Mesh Technology Enhances Industrial Screening Performance

Screening operations play a crucial role in mineral processing, silica sand production, aggregate processing and coal preparation plants. However, traditional metal screen meshes often struggle to maintain efficiency when handling abrasive, sticky or wet materials.

Under such conditions, metal screen meshes rapidly experience aperture wear, material blockage and reduced open area, leading to decreased screening accuracy and frequent maintenance shutdowns.

Polyurethane screen mesh technology has emerged as an effective solution to these challenges.

The flexible polyurethane structure offers excellent wear resistance and maintains stable aperture geometry under continuous vibration. Compared with conventional metal screens, polyurethane meshes can provide three to five times longer service life while improving screening precision and material flow performance.

Field applications across multiple industries demonstrate significant improvements in operational performance. Silica sand plants have reduced clogging downtime by more than 70%, while aggregate producers have extended screen service life from several months to more than a year. Mining operations processing abrasive ores have also achieved notable increases in screening efficiency and product recovery.

The optimized anti-clog aperture design allows materials to pass smoothly through the screening surface while preventing accumulation of sticky particles. This ensures stable screening capacity and reduces the need for manual cleaning.

With growing demand for higher productivity and reduced maintenance costs, polyurethane screen mesh is increasingly becoming the preferred screening solution for modern industrial processing plants.
